Hello, my name is Mike Bassett. I am the Southeast Sales Manager for Britz and Company.
I am a former Animal Facility Manager. I worked as the manager at Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine for 29 years and, also at The University of Tennessee Health Science Center for 4 years. I served 6 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard as a 13 FOXTROT, forward observer.
I reside in Starkville, MS with my wife Becky and my two kids Hatcher and Presley. I have worked in research for over 33 years in several capacities including as cage wash technician, surgical aide, research technician, assisting in building design and management of medium to large size animal care staff.
My advice for anyone starting in the animal care field is to achieve AALAS certification at all levels.
