Lab equipment

For many years, lab research facilities have had problems thoroughly cleaning their sipper tubes. Improper cleaning left germs and pathogens in the tubes to be spread throughout the colony.

Most users simply pile all of their sipper tubes into a basket and run them through their tunnel or cage washer. This “static” washing method is ineffective because it is virtually impossible for any cleaners or disinfectants to actually enter the inside of the sipper tube. To effectively clean sipper tubes, the tubes need to be agitated, allowing the cleaners to penetrate the inside of the sipper tubes, and kill the pathogens.

The Britz Sipper Tube Tumbler is the first and only Sipper Tube Tumbler designed to use your existing washing equipment and independently agitate and thoroughly clean the sipper tubes. This saves you up to $15,000 over other independent washing systems.

To use, simply put the battery-operated Sipper Tube Tumbler on your tunnel wash belt or into your cage washer. Turn on the drive, and watch the tubes tumble! The Sipper Tube Tumbler will then run through a normal tunnel or cash wash cycle.

This one-of-a-kind Sipper Tube Tumbler is designed to help eliminate chronic germs and pathogens being left in the sipper tubes. Contact any of our Lab Animal Professionals to talk about how the Sipper Tube Tumbler can benefit your organization and your research animals

“The tumbler helped us streamline our cage wash processes and decrease processing time. We also appreciated that leaving the tumbler on after exiting the cage wash helped to accelerate the drying time. We also tested the efficacy of the cleaning of the action tumbler and were pleased with the results. We love it!”

Normotherm™ Infrared Heaters

Normotherm™ is changing the future of animal health with comfort before, during and after surgery.

For years, veterinarians, scientists, and technicians have struggled to achieve and maintain normal body temperatures of animals in clinical and laboratory settings. Heating pads, hot water bottles, space heaters and a myriad of other methods have always provided inconsistent results, at times even resulting in injury to animals through overheating, burns, or other undesirable effects. Inconsistent body temperatures lead to much longer surgical recoveries and wound healing times.

With infrared heat, recovery time and wound healing times have been proven to be up to 50% faster. Infrared heat increases metabolism, thereby speeding the release anesthetics and discharge of toxins, which aid in recovery and wound healing.

Features & Benefits

Infrared heat is the most effective way to achieve and maintain increased blood flow and eliminate heat loss in rodents and other animals, thereby allowing researchers more time for procedures, and under more humane conditions.

For Rodents, maintaining normal body temperatures helps with dilation of blood vessels in the tail to assist with tail vein blood collections or injections.

90% of infrared heat is absorbed by the body and warms the body directly without warming the air, allowing the animal to breathe cool air vital to thermoregulation. This allows the animals to be warmed for a longer period of time without danger.

It’s also silent, operates for pennies a day, is easy to clean and has no disposables. While traditional heating methods such as heating pads, hot water bottles, or blowers often provide inconsistent results. The Normotherm™ provides the most effective form of heat for intraoperative and postoperative use.

Mobile Sinks

The BH mobile sink eliminates a standard fixed sink from every room of a facility which saves floor space and reduces facility costs. Savings in infrastructure can be applied to direct research needs.

Open Model and Cabinet Model Mobile Sinks.

Provides simple, cost-effective, and floor-space-efficient solution for sink access in multiple laboratories.

24″ W x 24″ D x 39″ H from the floor to the top of the sink; 49 3/8″ from the floor to the top of the gooseneck faucet.

Soap dispenser, paper towel dispenser, Gooseneck Faucet, IR Faucet, eye wash, water pump and storage carboys for self-contained operation in areas without water access.

Utility Boxes

The Britz & Co. Utility Box works hand in hand with the Mobile Sink for an effective, cost-saving cleaning system. The prefabricated BH Utility Box is recessed into the wall and interstitial wall space and is designed to supply hot and cold water. The Mobile Sink has built-in quick-disconnect fittings for easy connection to the Utility Box water supply. When installed, the plumbing utilities are recessed, making the wall surface smooth to enhance sanitization procedures and space utilization.

If you are in the planning stages for a new building or remodeling project, the mobile sink utility box is an integral design element for saving money and floor space. The utility box can supply hot and cold water supplies, as well as de-ionized water.

Self-Contained Water Supply

The Self-Contained five gallon autoclavable carboys are used as a clean and waste water supply. The Self-Contained option includes a 12 volt DC pressure demand pump, accumulator tank, and a 12 volt rechargeable DC battery pack and charger. This option allows the sink to be used in a wide variety of locations throughout the facility where utilities (water and sewer) aren’t available.
